PSIM's speed, robust solver, and the capability to handle very large systems makes it ideally suited for aerospace and defense applications.
For example, EADS, the parent company of Airbus, uses PSIM to simulate the electrical power distribution system in an aircraft (Reference: D. Izquierdo, et al., "Electrical Power Distribution System (HV270DC) for Application in More Electric Aircraft", 2010 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conf., Feb. 21-25, 2010, Palm Springs, CA, pp. 1300-1305), as shown below.
The system consists of hundreds of subsystems and blocks that other leading simulation software have problems simulating. Modeling and simulation in PSIM allows engineers to verify the system functionality and solve integration issues, and PSIM has been the key tool in the development of this project.
